Nestled in the heart of rural Warwickshire, Henley-in-Arden School is one of the education world’s hidden gems.  With pressure on school places in Solihull and Birmingham, and a growing desire for a smaller, friendlier school experience, more and more parents are discovering our 600 pupil secondary school, especially as families are no longer restricted to choosing a school in their own local authority.

We are resolutely focused on academic achievementAcademic results are above the national average and many of our pupils go on to prestigious sixth forms.  Very many pupils, such as the record breaking Isabelle Brennan (12A*s at GCSE), go on to Oxbridge and “Russell Group” universities including, in Isabelle’s case, Balliol College, Oxford where she is studying Biomedical Science.  In 2017 students also reached such notable institutions as Warwick, Bristol and York.

Being a smaller school doesn’t stop us providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including many very successful sports clubs and even our own equestrian team!  Particularly noteworthy is our emphasis on the Performing Arts.  A quick glance at our website’s alumni page reveals our strengths in drama, dance and music with students graduating from top specialist schools including the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts and Guild Hall; our students go on to fantastic successes, for example recent ex-pupils Connor Ball (star of The Vamps) and Poldark actor Alexander Sebastian Morris.

Nowadays, families have a wide range of schools to choose from as parents are no longer restricted by traditional 'catchment areas'.  Nevertheless, we're always surprised how many families aren’t aware that a school such as Henley-in-Arden School is an option for them - but we are!  Admissions are open now and anyone wanting to visit us is welcome to either attend the open evening in September or contact the school to book a visit during one of the open mornings.

Come and see us, browse our website or follow us on twitter (@henleyschool) to stay in touch with this small school with big ambitions.

This very short video highlights the safe, inviting environment of the mediaeval market town of Henley-in-Arden; we look forward to welcoming you to our town, and  to its school, very soon. You can access us by rail, coach, bus, car... or even by horse and cart, as many have done since Shakespeare's time and before!
