Teaching Vacancies

Teacher of Science

Full time, permanent

Salary – MPR/UPR

Start date – 1st January 2021

In every way the Science Department mirrors the aims and beliefs of the school.  All staff work hard, supported by a committed leadership team, to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning. Henley in Arden pupils love to acquire new knowledge and skills; our teachers relish the opportunity to deliver engaging, challenging lessons to committed pupils.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Science. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and be able to motivate students through inspirational teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join a thriving school and work with students who are keen to learn. A specialism in either Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be considered. Applications are welcomed from NQTs and experienced practitioners. Outstanding support is provided for NQTs through our very supportive and structured NQT programme.  Additionally, we are delighted to be able to offer access to National College leadership programmes through our Teaching School partnerships, including NPQML and NPQSL.

Science sits within the Faculty of Physical Sciences and you will be joining a very established team of experienced and supportive colleagues. Students study either AQA Separate Sciences or Combined Science Trilogy at GCSE level.

Ofsted recently reported that our thriving students have ‘…good attitudes to their work and are well behaved’, and that ‘pupil attainment remains high and above national averages…[and] pupils make good progress across a wide range of subjects’.

Opportunities don’t arise very often to teach at a school like Henley in Arden and we are delighted to be offering the chance for someone to join the department.

In return we can offer you:

  • A positive and innovative learning culture supported by students, staff, parents and governors
  • Enthusiastic students who enjoy learning and engage positively in all aspects of school life
  • As part of a Trust, access to high quality continuing professional development and the opportunity for personal growth and development
  • A collaborative and supportive attitude amongst staff which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity
  • A Senior Leadership team who is committed to promoting the best environment and outcomes for staff and students
  • Teacher Pension and a Cycle to Work scheme
