Exam Results

Please note: Year 11 Examinations have not been held nationally since 2019. In 2019 Henley-in-Arden School has had another record breaking year of GCSE results.  80% of pupils gained a Grade 4 or higher in English and Maths, well above the national average for last year of 63%.  This figure is equivalent to the old A*-C in English and Maths and this year’s results are the highest they have ever been in the school.  English has done particularly well with over 90% gaining a Grade 4 or above (A*-C); that’s a full 25 percentage points higher than last year’s national average for English of 65%.  At Henley over 80% even exceeded the more challenging “strong pass” threshold of a grade 5 or above in English.  Attainment 8 – a measure of the average grade gained by pupils in their best 8 subjects – has risen again.  Compared to last year’s national average of 44.6 points, Henley has done amazingly well with an average Attainment 8 of 50 points.

Headteacher, Steve Jefferies said, “I’m delighted by a fantastic set of exam results!  This year has seen even more upheaval to the exam system but the hard work, tenacity and creativity of our teachers, support staff, pupils and parents has led to the best results we’ve ever seen at the school.  Our pupils and staff deserve the warmest praise for their wonderful achievements.”
