Warning Sign – Please be Aware!

Warning sign PLEASE BE AWARE – TIKTOK/SNAPCHAT/WHATSAPP/TWITTER

There is an extremely triggering and highly graphic video currently trending on TikTok of a man live-streaming his suicide. Whilst TikTok have stated that they are doing their best to remove the video.

It has been shared across all social media platforms hundreds of thousands of times including under fake captions. Some captions on TikTok are as trivial as ‘look at the pasta I cooked tonight’ therefore children can come across the video without even searching for it.

We cannot state enough that this video is extremely distressing and we urge children, parents and carers to avoid the app whilst this video is in such high circulation.

If you have witnessed the video please seek appropriate support from a parent, carer, teacher or from any of the mental health support services below

School Uniform

Dear Parents

You have informed us of an issue with your childs school uniform.  We have a range of loan items available to remedy the situation.  All items are either brand new or appropriately laundered.

Where items are limited we may loan on a daily basis with due attention to laundering to cater for COVID.

Should you have a financial constraint please do let us know, and we will look to support with this. Full school uniform of the correct standard is expected and therefore please do work with us by sending your child with a note on their return to school.  The pastoral team will work with the form tutor to resolve this appropriately.

Let’s make ‘Fitness Studio’ at Henley in Arden School happen!

The PE department have started a crowdfunding project for which we are aiming to raise funds to convert the old barn (behind the new science block) into a ‘Multiuse Fitness Studio’. Funds raised will be used to convert this disused outbuilding into a fitness, health and wellbeing centre for pupils of Henley-in-Arden school and Venture Academy. Local residents from the community will have opportunities to use the space at evenings or weekends.

We would love it if you could show your support by ‘liking’ or ‘donating’ using the website address below to access our project page.

https://communityfund.calor.co.uk/henleyfitness

On the project page you will see that ‘likes’ receive 1 point and donations 10 points. (You must be 18 or over to do this). By the 27th July projects with the highest points will be granted up to £5000 additional funds from Calor. Please share this link with everyone you know to give us a chance to win!

Below is a web address which links to a short video made by the kids at Henley and Venture Academy to help you understand what the project is about and what it would mean to them.

Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated and any page ‘likes’ will be a step in the right direction to help us reach our goal!

Thank you.

Mr McDowell
